What is PCI/DSS Compliance?

From the world's largest corporations to small stores, compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is vital for all merchants who accept credit cards, online or offline, because nothing is more important than keeping your customer’s payment card data secure. The size of your business will determine the specific compliance requirements that must be met. Note that enforcement of merchant compliance  is managed by the individual payment brands and not by ReliantPay – the same is true for non-compliance penalties.

Why do I need to be PCI/DSS Compliance?

As a merchant you need to assure your customers you are doing everything to protect cardholder data.  Please check out this article from our local chamber of commerce. CHAMBER PCI ARTICLE.

Also this PDF describes and explain why PCI is so important, perhaps difficult, yet necessary: PCI Myths.

How do I become compliant?

As a ReliantPay merchant,  ReliantPay offers our merchants access to a simplified questionnaire and we have also contracted with PCI Compliance to also perform scanning requirements for those merchants that require a scan on a quarterly basis.  As a ReliantPay merchant, you will receive PCI/DSS certification that you are compliant with the standards as set forth by the board.

What are the next steps?
